About Me

Thank you so much for stopping in to this blog.  My name is Deidra Monson, and I am currently on my second year of teaching science.  If you would have told me that I would be focusing on science while I was in college, I would have called you crazy.  However, teaching science has become a passion I wouldn't trade.  My love of writing and technology have fit hand in hand with this subject.  After a lot of studying, I have found that I have a love for learning that I had lost during the jaded years of college.  And everyday that I learn a little more about science, the more I love my Savior who created it all.

I have found that middle school is the place to be.  Of course, I love that I don't have the same kid every day because of hormones and drama.  When I was in middle school, I hated it.  Having teachers that had my back helped me make it without too many "my life is over" moments, and now I am determined to be that teacher for my middle school babies.  Let me tell you, for those that don't have personal experience, teaching sixth grade is hard.  Also smelly.  Very, very smelly.  However, the joy I have in my heart is overflowing because of those kids.  At the end of the day, it all comes down to your beliefs, your hopes, and the difference you can make.
